Plymbridge Woods to Clearbrook

Starting from the free National Trust car park at Plymbridge Woods, where you’ll often find an ice cream van and occasional refreshment stalls, this gentle walk follows the old railway line north toward Yelverton. The wide, well-surfaced trail passes through beautiful woodland, over impressive viaducts with views of the River Plym, and through the short Leighbeer Tunnel. The route is easy to follow and ideal for a relaxed outing, with plenty of wildlife and peaceful scenery along the way. After around 5.5 miles, you reach the moorland edge village of Clearbrook — a great halfway point with the welcoming Skylark Inn for food or a drink. Retrace your steps for a breezy, slightly downhill return to Plymbridge.
